Hello New Underwood School District Families.
Crews are nearly finished with the installation of the new HVAC system in the main building in the school. Over the course of the next week and a half, they are tying up loose ends and will be firing it up.
The weather has decided to change slightly sooner than our crews have been able to finish, and the system is not ready in the MS/HS buildings for this first predicted winter storm. Forecasts have not indicated frigid temps or significant snow for our area, but cooler temperatures will certainly be a factor. With warmer temps today, the internal building temperature should hold steady for school tomorrow. In the spirit of being prepared, it is recommended that students dress in layers (t-shirt, sweatshirt, long pants, socks, appropriate shoes, etc.). This primarily will impact the staff and students located in the main building as the elementary/lunchroom/kitchen operates on a separate system.
