1. End-of-year check-out sheets. Seniors, they will be available to you on Thursday morning. I will not give them out earlier without parental approval unless you are in track. Track kids must pick them up Wednesday morning in the main office.
11th -6th: Year-end check-out sheets will be distributed during the first hour on May 21. If you need them sooner, parents must call first.
2. ATTENTION MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS: There will be an End of Year dance for current 6th-8th grade students on Thursday, May 23, 2024; This dance is hosted by the New Underwood Community Outreach Committee; it will be from 7 pm-9 pm in the big gym. We will have a DJ from JDMC Entertainment & are looking forward to a fun event. Sign-up sheets are hanging on the bulletin boards in the main hallway. If planning to attend, please sign up by 5/20/24 at the latest!!

May 16th is the last date for backpack food distribution. Feeding South Dakota does service New Underwood every month. Typically they are in NU the 2nd Monday of each month. June is scheduled for the 10th from 10:30AM-11:30AM. Location is Sunny Haven Apartments 419 Oak Street.

The track meet scheduled for today May 7, 2024 in Pierre has been cancelled.

On Monday Mrs. Brassfield hosted a Student Appreciation Dinner for all the students in 6th-12th grade that participated in extra-curricular activities. There was a great turnout. Thanks to all the kids and coaches that attended. Also, we want to give a big thank you to the NU Booster Club, the Build Your Base program, and our sponsor The Western Legacy Foundation.

The seniors had the opportunity to meet Troy Heinert, a former state legislator today. They discussed the history of tribal governments and how they are implemented today, and even debated House Bill 1249, creating a task force for the welfare of Indian Children.





April's Tiger Way is YET! The concept of YET indicates a growth mindset. Nominations for YET were Jordan & Aaryn (Kindergarten), Olivia (1st grade), Arrow (2nd grade), Isaiah (3rd grade), Cruz (4th grade) and Jasmine (5th grade). The recipients of the award were Aaryn and Isaiah. Congratulations to all nominees!
