New Underwood Student Council The Veteran’s Day Program will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 10:00 am. 4. High School Rodeo Team members, please stop by the library to pick up your rodeo calendars to sell. Mrs. Rodenbaugh already has members wanting more calendars to sell and wants to make sure everyone gets their first 6 before I send any more extras out. She is running low! 5. Rodeo Club meeting Friday at 6pm at the New Underwood Rodeo grounds. 6. There will be a HS Wrestling meeting Thursday after school in the Tiger Den for any girls or boys interested in wrestling.

The New Underwood School District is looking for paraprofessional for the 2023-2024 school year. Duties may include but are not limited to student supervision while in class and during arrival/dismissal/recess/lunch times, and one on one student support. The application can be found on the school district website under the employment tab at www.newunderwood.k12.sd.us. ATTENTION NEW UNDERWOOD SCHOOL PARENTS/GUARDIANS FOR THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR ONLY Effective November 1, 2023, the New Underwood School District will be covering the cost of meals for students that are currently required to pay; this includes breakfasts and lunches (exclusive to enrolled K-12 students only). This option will only be offered for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year. Accounts will revert to their original status for the 2024-2025 school year. In addition to free meals, all fees associated with online credit card and/or e-check payments will be waived for the 2023-2024 school year. Please Note: Students who take an extra milk will still be required to have money on their account; extra milk will not be free. Please call the office with any questions. Account balances will be carried to next school year for continuing students. No refunds will be given unless requested in writing and will be done at the end of the school year. Tanse Herrmann with the Natural Resources Conservation Service visited two agriculture classes today. He taught students plant biology, proper range health & management, and how to use a grazing stick to make range management decisions. Students used the grazing sticks to measure forage height and determine appropriate stocking rates for cattle in various scenarios.

The middle school football game scheduled for today has been cancelled. The high school football game will still be held as scheduled.

Fruit sales will run October 16 - November 9. The fruit will be delivered to the school in the first part of December. If you are interested in ordering fruit, meats or cheeses and a student does not contact you please call or email Brandi Brassfield at the school.

The Lil Coffee Cabin will be at here tomorrow from around 8AM to 12:30ish and have items for purchase. They will be parked near the basketball courts as in the past.

Our 2023 Homecoming is just around the corner and our seniors are on course for their first stop on their final destination! We would love for the community to give our seniors some first class wishes for their trip. We will have paper at the school for use or you can use paper at home to make a paper airplane. In the airplane, please write a wish well to our senior class. These wishes will be shared with them after they help to decorate our stage! We will need these airplanes no later than Monday 10/2/23 at 3:45. They can be dropped off at the main office at the school. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Condon.
